The Washington Commanders are not throwing in the towel just yet. They wouldn't have kept faith with head coach Dan Quinn otherwise, but the situation remains precarious for everyone involved.

And with the trade deadline approaching, general manager Adam Peters could have some big decisions to make.

Peters revealed that he has been making and taking calls about trade possibilities. They haven't gone any further yet, but it does mean the Commanders might be open for business in some capacity.

At 1-4-1, incomings seem unlikely. That could change if the Commanders beat the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams after their bye week. But if they end up 1-6-1 at this point, the vultures will no doubt be circling if Peters eventually decides to sell.

With that in mind, here are eight Commanders players who could be traded if the team's season continues to spiral.

Washington Commanders players who could be traded if their losing slump continues

Ben Sinnott - Commanders TE

The Ben Sinnott experiment is seemingly over. He just hasn't established himself enough to warrant any other commitment, and even though he is doing some good work as a blocker, it wasn't what the Commanders had in mind.

If Washington's season keeps slipping away, the Commanders could give their younger guys a chance rather than shipping them out before the trade deadline. But with Sinnott, there is a distinct lack of trust in his ability to come through when it counts.

Sinnott received glowing praise before the draft. Washington took him at No. 53 overall in 2024 wth a view to him being their complete package long term. That doesn't look like it's happening now, but whether it's enough for the Commanders to cut their losses is another matter.

K'Lavon Chaisson - Commanders OLB

The Commanders signed K'Lavon Chaisson this offseason. But it was only a one-year deal, and the jury is still out on whether Washington will commit to him for longer next spring.

Chaisson has 2.5 sacks, but the flashes are not being sustained. The Commanders are well stocked on the edge, but giving up on the free-agent signing so soon sends the wrong message.

At the same time, everyone has a price. And if the Commanders struggle, teams might call Adam Peters to tempt him into parting ways with the pass rusher.

This also rings true of Dorance Armstrong Jr. (we'll get to him a little later). But it would have to be an extortionate offer for Peters to even consider the possibility.

But anything can happen in the NFL.
