Miller wanted to find the correct fit at this late stage of his playing career. The Commanders were supposed to provide him with one more shot at lifting another Super Bowl, but that looks a long way off right now. Although he's flashed promise as a pass-rusher on a rotational basis, Peters has to get younger on the edge next spring.
That is not an option. The team's lack of depth has been exposed by some crippling injuries to the likes of Deatrich Wise Jr. and Dorance Armstrong Jr. Miller is providing experience and leadership at a critical time.
