The Washington Commanders may bring in another veteran wide receiver at some stage. However, there is a growing belief in the building that they may have a steal on their hands in rookie third-round pick Antonio Williams.
It's been an impressive start to life in Washington for Williams. He's made a seamless transition, picked up David Blough's route concepts well, and looks like a natural already. There is a long way to go and a lot of hard work ahead, but the Commanders could give him a hefty workload right out of the gate if the same trend continues.
Williams, who had a first-round grade before the 2025 campaign, is a smooth mover with assured hands and outstanding body control. He creates separation effortlessly and makes things happen with the football in his hands. Given the concerns behind Terry McLaurin on the receiver depth chart, a strong minicamp could propel the Clemson product into a pivotal role before training camp arrives.
That may not stop the Commanders from signing Brandon Aiyuk or someone else, but it will only help.
