The Cleveland Browns are seemingly open for business before the trade deadline. Trading wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills could be the start of a fire sale for the AFC North outfit, which is languishing at 1-5 following a disastrous start to the campaign.

This is not a team devoid of talent. They have some decent pieces, but something is missing. Kevin Stefanski is under increasing pressure to steady this ship, but those in the front office are also planning for the future to further complicate matters.

The Washington Commanders are in a completely different scenario. They are 4-2 with some winnable games upcoming before and after the midway point. Momentum remains high despite their loss at the Baltimore Ravens, so general manager Adam Peters might pivot accordingly to rectify some obvious issues by acquiring players who are under contract elsewhere.

Peters won't be rash - that's not his style. He's already proven to be a shrewd negotiator, extracting maximum value from his trade activity so far. If there's a good deal to be hard that works for the franchise in the short and long term, the former San Francisco 49ers executive won't hesitate to pull the trigger.

With this in mind, here are five potential trade deadline options - and how likely they appear - the Commanders could target from the Browns in 2024.

Commanders could trade for Elijah Moore

  • Chances: Intriguing

The Washington Commanders were reportedly looking to acquire another wide receiver before the 2024 trade deadline. That might have changed looking at how Noah Brown integrated into the lineup, but no team can ever have enough productive playmakers.

Jayden Daniels is a superstar. This is a window of opportunity for the Commanders and they must capitalize on it. Someone like Elijah Moore represents a low-risk, potentially high-reward trade target who looks tailor-made for Kliff Kingsbury's offensive concepts.

Moore hasn't benefitted from any genuine quarterback consistency since entering the league. He's put up decent numbers, so Washington could be an environment where the elusive pass-catcher thrives further.

This wouldn't cost the earth. The Commanders aren't on the hook for any long-term commitment either with the player out of contract next spring. Moore would have an added sense of urgency to get a new deal with a team on the rise in this scenario. It's also worth remembering that he's still just 24 years old.
