5 bold Washington Commanders predictions vs. the Steelers in Week 10

Jeremy Chinn secures fourth-quarter turnover
After an indifferent start to life with the Washington Commanders, dynamic safety Jeremy Chinn has come of age in recent weeks. He looks much more comfortable within Dan Quinn and Joe Whitt Jr.'s defensive scheme. His athleticism has come to the fore and he's making big plays in key moments.
Chinn was the standout performer in Week 9 against the New York Giants. The former second-round selection seemed to be all over the field. He got to the contact point quickly and also made some outstanding contributions in coverage for good measure. If the same trend continues over the second half of 2024, general manager Adam Peters would be wise to reward him accordingly with a new deal.
Considering Chinn's coverage capabilities was a concern coming into the Commanders, his 72.2 pass defense grade from Pro Football Focus ranks 18th among 149 qualifying safeties. This needs to be enhanced even more versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Southern Illinois product must be alert, support on the backend, and make his presence felt at the defensive second level. If Chinn can also come up with a turnover, the better Washington's chances will be.
Jayden Daniels gains 350 total yards
Jayden Daniels helped himself to another Rookie of the Week award for his accomplished performance against the New York Giants. The concern surrounding his rib issue is gone, replaced by more talk about the first-year pro being among the leading contenders for NFL MVP after a sensational opening to his professional career.
Week 10 is arguably Daniels' toughest test to date. The Pittsburgh Steelers boast an outstanding defense capable of making life extremely difficult. They've also enjoyed tremendous success against Lamar Jackson in recent years, who's got a lot of similar traits to the former LSU star.
Daniels will prepare effectively and treat this like any other contest. The Commanders have an opportunity to lay down another marker against a potential postseason challenger. Taking what the defense gives him and picking spots will be a crucial element to this complex equation for the Heisman Trophy winner.
Hopes are high that Daniels can rise to the occasion once again. Everyone associated with the Commanders believes they have a chance in any game with his presence under center. It would be a huge shock if he didn't continue his exceptional surge with the spotlight getting brighter with every passing week.
