5 bold Washington Commanders predictions at the Eagles in Week 11
By Dean Jones
Brian Robinson Jr. scores 2 touchdowns
The Washington Commanders are without cornerback Marshon Lattimore and kicker Austin Seibert in Week 11. However, they received one significant boost on the health front heading into their Thursday Night Football showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brian Robinson Jr. is back.
After missing the last two games, the team's No. 1 running back is off the injury report and ready to go. Just how much of a workload the former third-round selection accumulated remains to be seen.
Austin Ekeler performed extremely well in his absence. Offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury could allocate a more balanced share versus a stout Eagles defensive front giving up just 100.7 yards per game on the ground.
If the Commanders want to stand any chance of securing success, they need to make their red-zone opportunities count. Robinson will have an influential say in this area of the field with his physical running style. Leaning on him heavily could be the key to unlocking a Philadelphia defense displaying encouraging growth after a rocky start.
The Alabama product already has six touchdowns on the season. If Robinson can add two more to his collection in Week 11, the better Washington's chances will be.
Commanders pull off a memorable road win
This season has been littered with impressive statements by the Commanders. Securing a road win over the Eagles would arguably be the biggest one yet at an important stage of the campaign.
Fans are expectant as Washington gears up to walk into enemy territory. They've proven capable of hanging with anybody this season. Aside from their Week 1 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dan Quinn's men have been competitive throughout. It won't be easy on a short week, but the same is needed in no uncertain terms at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Commanders go into the game as underdogs. That's just fine with them. It's all about laying down a marker and reminding the entire NFL audience that this is a project going places quicker than even the brightest optimist expected.
Handling the pressure and intimidating environment is crucial. If the Commanders can accomplish this, control the clock, and gain some early momentum from which to build, don't be surprised if they emerge from this heated divisional battle with bragging rights.
