5 bold Washington Commanders predictions at the Eagles in Week 11
By Dean Jones
Dan Quinn and his Washington Commanders squad are coming into a high-stakes situation with the national spotlight glaring on primetime. Traveling to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11 continues this historic rivalry between both franchises. There is also more on the line than ever.
With the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants fading fast, Washington and Philadelphia are in a straight fight for NFC East supremacy. There is very little between the two clubs right now. This game comes with significant ramifications attached one way or another.
The Eagles will get some breathing space with a win at Lincoln Financial Field. If the Commanders somehow pulled off an upset on the road, they would once again be on the summit with a tie-breaker attached.
This is what Washington fans have been waiting for. They're involved at the business end of the campaign. Every game and every result matters. Nobody expected it to happen this quickly. Capitalizing on this monumental positivity is crucial.
With that being said, here are five bold predictions for the Commanders on Thursday Night Football.
Bold predictions for the Commanders in Week 11
Jayden Daniels gains 300 total yards
Jayden Daniels is the man for the big occasion. His outstanding poise and immense composure under center have spearheaded the Washington Commanders' renaissance. Nothing seems to faze the signal-caller despite his lack of NFL experience. Thursday's game represents a different challenge entirely.
Lincoln Financial Field is notoriously intimidating. The Philadelphia Eagles fanbase is passionate, loud, sometimes obnoxious, and does everything possible to help their team win. This is a test Daniels must be ready for in pursuit of getting the Commanders back to winning ways.
It won't be easy, but confidence is high in Daniels.
He's been almost flawless up to now. Daniels' performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers was arguably the worst of his rookie campaign so far. However, the former LSU star wasn't helped by drops in the passing game after failing to get anything going on the ground.
Philadelphia's defense under coordinator Vic Fangio will throw everything at Daniels. Weathering an early storm, taking the crowd out of the equation, and coming up with big plays in key moments are crucial.
If Daniels can accomplish this feat en route to 300 or more total yards, the Commanders will be well-positioned to triumph if the defense lives up to their end of the bargain.
