Terry McLaurin has a standout day

The first two weeks of the season with rookie quarterback Jaydenn Daniels saw the Washington Commanders go 1-1 with a hairpin victory over the New York Giants. Terry McLaurin had 39 receiving yards and zero touchdowns through the opening fortnight.

The Commanders have gone 3-0 since then. McLaurin has two 100-yard games, is averaging 88 yards per contest, and has scored two touchdowns. That's not a coincidence.

As evident on several scramble drills last week, the connection between McLaurin and Daniels is in full effect. He has been hoping for the Commanders to finally find a quarterback worthy of his talents. Now that they have, look for his yards to arrive in abundance.

The Baltimore Ravens, despite everything they have going for them, give up the second most passing yards per game in the entire NFL. That has come against the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow. But unluckily enough for the AFC North squad, Daniels appears to be in the company of those guys based on initial impressions.

The Ravens are going to have to find a way to get Daniels on the ground in the pocket. They don't have a chance if the No. 2 pick has enough time. They don't have anyone who could guard McLaurin. This could be a career day for the wideout - a chance for him to show those who don't already know that he is one of the truly elite receivers in football.

The magic continues this week. It likely soars to new heights. All the Commanders need to make this happen is to stave off the pass rush long enough. With the current state of Kliff Kingsbury's rushing attack, this should not be as difficult as it sounds, despite Baltimore's talent up front.
