Commanders could draft Roshcon Johnson

  • Running Back | Texas Longhorns

Adding another running back to compliment what Brian Robinson Jr. and Antonio Gibson bring to the table is something for the Washington Commanders to contemplate on Day 3. And they might want to take advantage of Roschon Johnson‘s slip out of the opening three rounds.

Johnson is a playmaker – a dual-threat weapon with enough physicality and elusiveness to make an impression. Perhaps playing second-fiddle to Bijan Robinson at Texas hurt his stock, but a standout performance at the 2023 Senior Bowl might hold weight where the Commanders are concerned based on their recent draft history.

The prospect could be a solid rotational option behind the aforementioned duo. Johnson could also make his presence felt as a kick returner on special teams in this scenario.

Commanders could draft Chandler Zavala

  • Offensive Line | North Carolina State Wolfpack

The Commanders used their third-round selection on an offensive lineman in the form of Ricky Stromberg after ignoring some top prospects earlier in the process. However, bolstering the unit further should not be completely dismissed.

One of the best remaining on Day 3 is Chandler Zavala. The North Carolina State product has the size and physicality typically associated with offensive linemen emanating from the program, boasting the athletic attributes to potentially compete for playing time immediately with a smooth transition.
