Commanders could draft O’Cyrus Torrence

  • Offensive Line | Florida Gators

O’Cyrus Torrence is another mauler. He has the same power as Steve Avila, though I don’t think he moves quite as well.

Where Torrence has it over Avila is in experience. He started all four years at Florida and never gave up a sack. You read that right – zero sacks playing in the SEC.

Considering the moves to improve defensive fronts across the Washington Commanders’ rivals in the NFC East, finding an instant starter on the protection’s interior is an absolute necessity on Day 2.

Commanders could draft Dawand Jones

  • Offensive Tackle | Ohio State Buckeyes

Somebody is going to take a chance on mammoth tackle Dawand Jones in the second round. No one in the draft is more physically imposing than the 6-foot-8, 378-pound former Ohio State Buckeye.

Whether he will ever be able to move well enough to be a force on perimeter runs is a major issue. But Jones is well worth the gamble at No. 47 overall.

He is Cornelius Lucas, only far more athletic. With a smooth transition, Jones could easily end up being a Day 1 starter, which would potentially allow Andrew Wylie to solidify the right guard position after his arrival in free agency.
