4 Relative Athletic Score gods the Commanders could draft in 2023

Commanders could draft Zack Kuntz
- Tight End | Old Dominion Monarchs
- Relative Athletic Score – 10/10
Adding another option to the tight-end room wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world. Much will depend on how Eric Bieniemy perceives things currently, but there are far too many unknowns to have significant confidence heading into the 2023 campaign.
The Washington Commanders might want to examine one of the deepest tight-end draft classes in recent memory for another alternative. While other key needs should rightfully take priority early on, some value could be had lower down the pecking order if the right individual is identified.
One prospect in particular that’s riding on the crest of a wave throughout the pre-draft evaluation process is Zack Kuntz. The Old Dominion product has put on a clinic throughout the testing phase, displaying a unique blend of size and speed en route to a perfect 10 RAS score for good measure.
This has made more than a few scouts and analysts sit up and take notice. Kuntz might be coming from an unheralded program, but he’s 6-foot-7 with a wingspan that represents a matchup nightmare no matter the opposition.
Kuntz has the scope to get off the block quickly and stretch the field. He also boasts enough functional strength to make contested catches and become a chain-mover over the middle, although his top-end speed wouldn’t be classed as elite by any stretch.
If Kuntz made it into the mid-rounds, don’t be surprised if the Commanders take a shot.
