Commanders could draft Anton Harrison

While he’s gone a little under the radar compared to most, Anton Harrison has the athletic gifts to potentially become the best offensive tackle prospect in this class. It might not come right away, but the scope for growth is there provided he adjusts well to increased demands at the next level.

Harrison looks like the latest in a long line of Oklahoma offensive tackles set to thrive in the NFL. But the prospect is much more than just an outstanding pass protector – he is intelligent enough to read things pre-snap and is nothing short of a mauler in the run game with brute power and ruthless conviction.

There weren’t many pass-rusher in college that got the better of Harrison consistently. His high football IQ allows the edge presence to use leverage well, which is matched by superb lateral agility and a solid base that makes him incredibly difficult to move off the block.

The Washington Commanders could do far worse than look in Harrison’s direction. But there are some technical aspects to his game that need refinement before confidence can increase.

Harrison can become hesitant at times, which could be his undoing against more prolific NFL pass-rushers. He’s also gotten away with being too upright on occasions in college – something that won’t wash in the face of high-caliber opposition in the pros.
