4 Commanders players who could be traded during the 2023 NFL Draft
By Dean Jones
Which Washington Commanders players could end up being traded at some stage during the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft?
It promises to be a fascinating 2023 NFL Draft for the Washington Commanders. One that could provide the extra firepower needed to mount another strong postseason push next season if those in power find the right prospects with their eight selections.
There will be increasing pressure on almost everyone in positions of power once the Commanders’ sale is finally confirmed. With no spare money to sign free agents, identifying instant contributors from the college ranks is the only viable remaining method to improve the roster.
Of course, the Commanders could decide to add more selections by participating in trade activity over the selection process. This includes moving up and down the board or even shipping out some veteran players provided the necessary replacements are sought.
With this in mind, here are four Commanders players that could be traded during the 2023 NFL Draft.
Player No. 1
Chase Roullier – Commanders C
Judging by the current state of affairs across the offensive line, Chase Roullier could be surplus to requirements if further additions are attained via the 2023 NFL Draft. Releasing the center with a post-June 1 designation appears the most likely scenario, but shopping the veteran should be done first before anything more drastic becomes reality.
Roullier has endured some torrid injury luck over the last two seasons, but his production when on the field remains good. This could lead another needy team to part ways with a late-round selection to the Washington Commanders in the hope his health complications become a thing of the past.
