4 prospects the Commanders must avoid during 2023 NFL Draft

Commanders must avoid Bijan Robinson
- Running Back | Texas Longhorns
Ron Rivera recently stated that help felt the Washington Commanders were in a good enough position to select the best player available. While that seems strange considering some pressing needs, it’s something that cannot be dismissed entirely.
If the Commanders went down this particular route, then Bijan Robinson enters the equation. While many beat reporters associated with the team indicate they aren’t seriously considering the former Texas phenom, a discussion will be had if he makes it down to No. 16 overall.
Robinson has the potential to be special. He was heads and shoulders above any running back in college football last season, representing a true three-down threat that also excels in pass protection to further enhance his stock.
Adding Robinson to Eric Bieniemy’s offensive scheme is a mouth-watering proposition. Even if the dream shouldn’t become reality when push comes to shove.
Firstly, the Commanders have two productive running backs on the books already. Brian Robinson Jr. and Antonio Gibson represent a capable duo that could flourish under Bieniemy, although adding another player to the room further down the draft is a realistic option all things considered.
It’s also unlikely Washington allocates such a high-end draft pick on a running back. The positional value coupled with serious needs elsewhere makes Robinson a luxury the Commander simply cannot afford right now.
