Which rough diamonds could the Washington Commanders potentially look to acquire when the all-important 2023 NFL Draft rolls around?

There are obvious needs that the Washington Commanders need to fill during the 2023 NFL Draft. With little in the way of spare financial resources currently, finding the right talent via the incoming crop of college prospects is the only way Ron Rivera is going to improve his chances of success next season.

The Commanders have eight selections across the seven rounds, which should assist greatly. There are also sound football minds within the building that know what’s required, so it would be a surprise if a few instant difference-makers weren’t in a Washington uniform next month.

What separates the good teams from the great is finding gems lower down the pecking order. One only has to look at the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs as proof of what can be accomplished when high-value selections far exceed expectations.

With this in mind, here are four rough diamonds the Commanders could potentially draft in 2023.

Commanders could draft Anthony Bradford

  • Offensive Line | LSU Tigers

The Washington Commanders could use some more offensive line help despite Ron Rivera’s reported happiness with their current options. Although he might be a work in progress, Anthony Bradford is a name worth monitoring and has drawn interest from the team’s primary decision-makers throughout their pre-draft assessments.

Bradford mirrors oncoming rushers well and also boasts heavy hands. There are some technical kinks to resolve, and his lack of consistency in space indicates he might be better suited to the guard position once he gets to the pros.
