How would Bijan Robinson fit on the Commanders?

  • Week 1 starter with generational, All-Pro upside

Any team that lands Bijan Robinson is going to get better. His unique athletic attributes coupled with next-level production in college could make him an instant starter and potential Pro Bowler right out of the gate.

While the prospect of putting Robinson in Eric Bieniemy‘s offense is mouth-watering, it’s a luxury that the Washington Commanders might not be able to afford. Selecting the running back means overlooking other critical areas of need such as cornerback and the offensive line, so those in power might opt to find more value rather than utilize their first-rounder on the position.

If the Commanders trade down for additional Day 2 capital, it’s a different story. Just where Robinson will be taken is another matter considering how running back value is currently perceived around the NFL.

Robinson is a generational talent, there’s absolutely no doubt about that whatsoever. And he could be the spark that finally ignites Washington’s offense to an elite-level unit providing Sam Howell meets his end of the bargain.

It would be a massive surprise if the Commanders took Robinson, no matter how good a fit this prospect is under the masterful watch of Bieniemy. However, there is no margin for error next season, which makes strengthening other positions the more likely scenario.
