Commanders could draft Drew Sanders

Another underrated area where the Washington Commanders need a long-term solution is at the middle linebacker position. Cody Barton’s arrival in free agency shouldn’t stop those in power from exploring a gifted young crop of college prospects, with many atop the board projected as Day 1 starters with high-end ceilings.
In this scenario discussed by Cam Mellor from Pro Football Network, the Commanders strike with a supreme conviction for their guy, sending their No. 47 ad No. 93 selections to the Tennessee Titans for the chance to draft Drew Sanders at No. 47 overall.
This leaves the Commanders without a third rounder, obviously. But Sanders is an outstanding sideline-to-sideline presence that appears to be an immediate upgrade on anything Washington has currently.
The former four-star high school recruit excels at getting after the passer. His transfer from Alabama to the Razorbacks couldn’t have gone much better in 2022, with Sanders racking up 103 tackles, one interception, five passes defended, nine sacks, and 13.5 tackles for loss – which sent his draft stock through the roof for good measure.
Although Sanders might be on the small side, there is a lot to like about his NFL potential. Something that would slot in well alongside or opposite Jamin Davis at the defensive second level.
