Which 2023 NFL Draft prospects are being linked to the Washington Commanders from their second-round selection at No. 47 overall?

There are multiple ways the Washington Commanders could go higher up in the 2023 NFL Draft. Some needs are more evident than others, so it’ll be interesting to see how those in power approach the early portion of the selection process with plenty at stake when the upcoming campaign arrives.

Washington isn’t blessed with much salary-cap space right now. That could all change by releases or restructures in the not-too-distant future, but the most cost-effective way of strengthening the team is finding the correct prospects emerging from the college ranks.

While the top quarterback prospects are out of the question based on their recent momentum, the Commanders seem to be happy with what they have under center in any case. Therefore, keying in on other positions groups is the best course of action for Ron Rivera heading into Year 4 of his tenure.

With this in mind, here are three prospects being linked to the Commanders at No. 47 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Commanders could draft Eli Ricks

Finding a potentially productive cornerback is among the biggest priorities facing the Washington Commanders during the draft. Something they can find within the first two rounds before the quality level drops off considerably.

One player that could be of interest is Eli Ricks. His breakout campaign at Alabama in 2022 couldn’t have been better timed and if the defensive back builds on his newfound momentum, it’s an option well worth considering.
