Here are some bold predictions for the Washington Commanders as they get set for an important free agency period in 2023.

The talk and speculation are almost at an end. With the legal tampering period opening on Monday, the Washington Commanders will begin what is hopefully going to be a profitable period of free agency for the franchise.

There should be enough financial wiggle room to sign instant contributors. Washington has some significant needs right now – especially at cornerback, linebacker, and the offensive line – so adding productive veterans gives them a little extra freedom when it comes to the 2023 NFL Draft next month.

With pressure mounting on the likes of head coach Ron Rivera and general manager Martin Mayhew, things have to go well. Otherwise, any new owner might decide to implement some franchise-altering changes at the first possible opportunity.

Looking ahead to a fascinating stage of the offseason, here are four bold predictions for the Commanders in free agency this year.

Commanders sign three starting OL

Addressing the offensive line is a necessity for the Washington Commanders in free agency. Considering how much is at stake for some influential figures within the organization next time around, finding instant solutions via the veteran pool might be worth its weight in gold.

That’s not to say Washington won’t use a high-end draft pick on their protection. But if they can sign three bonafide starters when the free-agent madness commences, it will do their chances of an instant playoff return next season a significant amount of good.
