Commanders could sign Kareem Hunt
As stated previously, Eric Bieniemy might examine which of his former players could come to the Washington Commanders and help next season. This is a pivotal campaign for the assistant head coach/offensive coordinator, who gets full control of an NFL offense and must excel in order to enhance his chances of becoming a head coach somewhere down the line.
Although things ended on a sour note with the Kansas City Chiefs, Kareem Hunt seems to have turned a corner from a character standpoint and is still performing at a relatively high level for good measure.
Bieniemy and Andy Reid got the best out of Hunt over the early stages of his NFL career. Superstardom beckoned for the dual-threat weapon before a serious off-field incident forced the Chiefs into a completely different direction.
Things were hanging in the balance for Hunt, but he got a new lease on life with the Cleveland Browns. His tandem with Nick Chubb was among the league’s best one-two punches and this should ensure he gets a nice payday in free agency from someone.
The Browns could keep him around with plenty of cap space available. If not, then Bieniemy could put in a call to gauge interest as part of Washington’s own committee approach alongside Brian Robinson Jr. and Antonio Gibson.
