Which players should the Washington Commanders not give up on ahead of a pivotal 2023 season for the franchise?

There promises to be some significant roster turnover within the Washington Commanders this offseason. Multiple position groups need reinforcing before competitive action begins, with Eric Bieniemy’s presence on the staff set to come with landmark changes on offense ahead of a potential playoff push in 2023.

The Commanders can be major players in free agency with the necessary sacrifices. They also boast eight selections during the 2023 NFL Draft to find immediate difference-makers and depth pieces that can become starters over time.

This puts the onus squarely on those indifferent performers currently on the roster to raise their respective contributions. Otherwise, head coach Ron Rivera will find players that can with plenty at stake for the respected figure next season.

With that being said, here are three players that the Commanders must not give up on in 2023.

Big changes are coming to the offensive line in 2023. This rag-tag group just didn’t meet the required standards last season, so expect the Washington Commanders to invest heavily through free agents and recruits from the college ranks.

Despite this, giving up on Sam Cosmi so soon would be unwise. Although the former Texas star might not ever be a productive edge presence, switching him to the interior could be worth its weight in gold if the transition is a smooth one.
