4 Manic Monday cuts that could interest the Commanders in 2023

Commanders could sign Chosen Anderson
The Washington Commanders have some decent weapons within their wide receiver room currently. Something that proved crucial in Eric Bieniemy’s decision to leave the Kansas City Chiefs and take on a challenge that could lead to a long-awaited head coaching gig down the line.
However, no team can ever have enough players on offense capable of making a difference. This bears more significance to the Commanders if they end up moving forward with Sam Howell as their starting quarterback in 2023.
One player released on Monday could have some use. Chosen Anderson – formerly Robbie – was a salary-cap casualty after just a few short games for the Arizona Cardinals. Things didn’t go according to plan for the wideout following his trade from the Carolina Panthers, which left those in power with no option other than to cut the player loose and save $12 million on their cap.
Anderson is just two years removed from a 1,000-yard receiving season. He has enough speed to stretch the field consistently and is a better route-runner than most give him credit for, so this could be a solid veteran addition provided he’s willing to accept a depth chart spot in Washington.
There’s no way Anderson gets ahead of Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, and Jahan Dotson on the depth chart. But a team-friendly deal and Bieniemy’s presence make this an intriguing – albeit risky – option to consider.
