Commanders could sign James Bradberry

Getting a top cornerback via free agency or the 2023 NFL Draft is something that should be among the Washington Commanders’ biggest priorities. They do have Benjamin St-Juste and Kendall Fuller, but that won’t be enough to counteract the supreme passing threats across the league and within their own division next season.

Could Ron Rivera pull off a major coup by convincing James Bradberry to leave the Philadelphia Eagles for Washington? Their previous working relationship means a discussion will be had between those in power, at the very least.

Bradberry silenced his doubters in no uncertain terms last season. He was confident and productive with the Eagles, forming an exceptional cornerback tandem with Darius Slay that was incredibly difficult for any passing attack to overcome.

Money is tight in Philadelphia and quarterback Jalen Hurts is eligible for a new deal, which could be in the $40-50 million range. Bradberry’s already stated he won’t sign on the cheap this time around, so all signs point to the defensive back taking his chances elsewhere.

This would fill a huge need and weaken an NFC East rival. A win-win for the Commanders, even if it’s going to cost them a pretty penny if they end up going in this particular direction.
