Which Washington Commanders don’t deserve another season in 2023 based on their respective contributions so far?

This is an important time in Washington Commanders franchise history. Not only from the football side of things – the imminent relinquishing of power from Dan Snyder is something else that’s bringing nervous anticipation and excitement in equal measure.

Snyder’s predicament is inconsequential for Ron Rivera and his staff. At least right now, anyway.

Their primary objective is to mold a roster capable of challenging for honors next season. This includes upgrading certain positions and also determining which individuals already on the roster are worth giving another go when competitive games begin.

With this in mind, here are four Commanders players that don’t deserve another season with the team in 2023.

Chase Roullier – Commanders C

While Chase Roullier has performed well when healthy, the best ability when it comes to the NFL is availability. Something the veteran center has found difficult over the last two seasons.

Much will depend on what acquisitions the Washington Commanders can attain this offseason in the wake of a damning NFLPA survey. But the offensive line is among their top priorities and this could see Roullier on the outside looking in when it’s all said and done.

Releasing Roullier after June 1 comes with a cap saving of $8.37 million. If the Commanders decide to do this beforehand, then just $4.32 million becomes available according to Over the Cap.
