4 former Washington Commanders who won’t be missed in 2023

Scott Turner – Former Commanders OC
Judging by how the offense performed last season, it didn’t take a genius to figure out that change was needed. And head coach Ron Rivera wasted no time in firing offensive coordinator Scott Turner once the 2022 season reached a conclusion.
Turner came into the organization with a big reputation. One that those in power hoped could provide the spark that ignited the Washington Commanders and the gifted playmakers at his disposal.
His previous connection to Rivera from their time together on the Carolina Panthers was something that had potential. But after stumbling into the playoffs almost by default in 2021, the Commanders weren’t so lucky last time around and this was thanks in no small part to their ineffective, often bland offensive concepts.
Turner found work quickly as Las Vegas Raiders’ passing game coordinator. As for the Commanders, they made the biggest splash imaginable by landing Eric Bieniemy from the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bieniemy’s reputation and scheme could completely transform Washington’s offense if the offensive line improves and they find the right guy under center. Whether that’s Sam Howell or someone else is the big question.
