Which former Washington Commanders who were part of the franchise last season won’t be missed in 2023?

The 2023 offseason is just a few short weeks old and it’s already been a story-laden one for the Washington Commanders. Players have gone, the coaching staff has been given a makeover, and further concerning allegations surrounding owner Dan Snyder could speed up the selling process in the very near future.

If, or when, Snyder sells up, the dawning of a new era arrives in Washington. One that’s been a long time coming and is a chance for legitimate hope that the Commanders can become an NFL powerhouse once again.

Ron Rivera and other influential figures are currently at the NFL Scouting Combine to evaluate the next batch of college recruits. But after an impressive start to the offseason, hopes are high that those in power can find the right reinforcements to potentially secure a playoff berth next time around.

With this in mind, here are four former Commanders who won’t be missed in 2023.

Although there’s still a chance Trai Turner gets a short-term extension given his connection to Ron Rivera, it does appear unlikely. The offensive guard just didn’t produce enough consistency in 2022 and suffered further complications on the injury front, which restricted him to 766 snaps en route to a below-average 53.0 grade from Pro Football Focus.

Considering how much the Washington Commanders need to improve their protection this offseason, Turner should be let go. And based on his performances last season, it won’t take much to find an upgrade.
