Commanders trade offer No. 3

Moving on from a standout performer such as Jalen Ramsey is a hard call to make. But the Los Angeles Rams clearly feel the need to bolster their draft capital with only three selections in the top 150 as it stands.

While the Rams have ten picks to call upon this spring, no fewer than six selections are in the final two rounds. Therefore, removing Ramsey’s contract and picking up additional assets to find a potential replacement on the cheap is obviously tempting.

Ramsey is one of the league’s best cornerbacks for a reason. He is aggressive and athletic, influencing proceedings on a three-down basis thanks to his exceptional coverage skills and physicality against the run.

The Washington Commanders could use someone like Ramsey. Something that would bolster a talented defense that’s loaded with the right blend of youth and experience heading into the 2023 season.

Offering three picks this year and next is a good offer for the Rams. Whether it’s something the Commanders legitimately consider given he’ll also want a lucrative extension with guaranteed money is another matter.

Until something gets confirmed, speculation will continue. But this is the sort of big splash Washington’s been known to pull the trigger on if recent history is any indication.
