4 Commanders players with genuine breakout potential in 2023

Benjamin St-Juste – Commanders CB
It’s no secret that the Washington Commanders could be on the lookout for a true shutdown cornerback this offseason. Considering how expensive these are if they hit the open market, utilizing the No. 16 overall selection on improving their options is a genuine possibility.
This does nothing to detract from the improvements made by Benjamin St-Juste in Year 2 of his professional career. The former third-round pick saw a huge upturn in reps as a sophomore and despite the odd blip or two along the way, performed well enough to suggest more of the same arrives in 2023.
St-Juste gave up just 47.7 percent of targets for 466 receiving yards and an 87.1 passer rating when targeted. This was a positive step forward for the player, who could make further improvements entering his third season in Washington.
Year 3 is normally the time when fans and coaches find out once and for all what players can become. They have a solid sample size to go off and are fully acclimatized to the NFL, but the signs are relatively promising from St-Juste’s perspective.
Obviously, more is needed alongside St-Juste and Kendall Fuller. Especially considering the strength of passing attacks residing in the NFC East, which was far more competitive than anyone expected in 2022.
