Even though the Washington Commanders couldn’t secure a second-straight postseason berth, it was a respectable campaign overall. Especially considering the quarterback complications suffered by the team in the second campaign under Ron Rivera.
That is among Washington’s biggest priorities this offseason. They can clear a significant amount of cap space to attract free agents and boast eight 2023 NFL Draft selections to sure up other positions of need via the college level.
Things are hanging in the balance with the NFC East being more competitive than anyone imagined. But the scope for growth is evident if those in power put the necessary foundations in place this spring.

The first major domino that could fall is Dan Snyder finally selling the Washington Commanders. Speculation is mounting that something could be finalized after the Super Bowl, although nobody has yet met his whopping $7 billion asking price to buy the organization.
Whether it’s Jeff Bezos or someone else, Snyder’s grip loosening entirely represents a new era for Washington football. One that can finally get them out of the doldrums and into legitimate NFL contention.
