3 Commanders players who could make major strides in 2023

Brian Robinson Jr. – Commanders RB
To say Brian Robinson Jr. endured a rough start to his NFL journey would be understating things. The talented rookie looked set to start right out of the gate, but the running back was shot twice in the leg during an attempted robbery, which set him back considerably.
This brought back painful memories for Washington Commanders fans after the untimely death of legendary safety Sean Taylor. However, this was thankfully less severe, and Robinson’s determination got him back onto the practice field in double-quick time.
It’s a remarkable story. One that is a testament to Robinson’s perseverance in the face of extreme adversity.
Upon being medically cleared, Robinson began generating carries in Week 5 and immediately made his presence felt. Something that gave the Commanders’ offense an extra spark with so much inconsistency coming from the quarterback position.
The Alabama product gained 797 rushing yards and two touchdowns from 205 carries. Robinson also brought in nine of 12 targets for 60 receiving yards and a score, so the potential for growth is evident all things considered.
With a full offseason under his belt, there’s just no telling how much better the 2022 third-round selection can get. And that’s music to Washington’s ears.
