4 bombshell trades the Washington Commanders could make in 2023

Commanders could trade for Aaron Rodgers
Another offseason, another dramatic wait to see where Aaron Rodgers will be playing in 2023. That’s if the signal-caller decides to come back at all.
Rodgers endured a disastrous start to life without wide receiver Davante Adams. Not entirely unexpected considering the inexperienced players brought in to replace the All-Pro, but there were some encouraging signs later in the campaign before eventually falling short of their playoff quest.
The Green Bay Packers are now playing a waiting game with Rodgers, who holds all the cards. However, multiple reports suggest this is the year where both parties might go their separate ways.
This would bring an end to a storied stint with the Packers. Rodgers has done and won it all, but leaving so much money on the table to avoid a fresh challenge is a big call to make.
If the Washington Commanders feel like all they need is a quarterback to get them over the hump, Rodgers is in play. There is baggage attached – a lot, actually – but it could be the spark that propels Ron Rivera’s men from an afterthought into the playoff picture.
Washington would need assurances from Rodgers that this wouldn’t be a one-year rental considering the compensation they’d give up. But it makes a ton of sense.
