The Washington Commanders will spend Christmas Eve in San Francisco as they get set to take on the 49ers in a pivotal NFC matchup with playoff implications.

The 49ers have already secured their division, but the Commanders are still in the midst of a fight for a postseason berth.

Washington will have its work cut out for them, as sportsbooks have the Commanders set as 6.5-point underdogs.

But what about player props? Are there other ways we can make a profit by betting on this game? I sure think so.

Let me show you my three favorite player props for the Christmas Eve showdown.

Best NFL Prop Bets for Commanders vs. 49ers

  • Brock Purdy UNDER 216.5 passing yards
  • Taylor Heinicke OVER 189.5 passing yards
  • Terry McLaurin OVER 4.5 receptions

Brock Purdy UNDER 216.5 passing yards

Brock Purdy has looked fantastic in his first few starts of career, but we’re going to see some regression from the former Iowa State quarterback sooner rather than later. Now might be the time it’s going to happen considering he’s set to take on an underrated Commanders defense.

The Commanders have allowed only 5.8 yards per pass attempt over their last three games, which is inside the top 10 of the NFL over that stretch. They’re going to give Purdy fits today, and I think it leads to him going under his passing yards total.

Taylor Heinicke OVER 189.5 passing yards

It’s crunch time now for the Commanders and it’s time for Taylor Heinicke to prove to everyone that he can be the guy in Washington. He has surpassed this total in two straight games and he will have to do it a third time for the Commanders to have any chance of winning this game.

Running the football isn’t much of an option for Washington in this game. The 49ers have the best run defense in the NFL, holding teams to a measly 3.4 yards per carry. If the Commanders are able to compete, it’s going to have to be with their passing game.

Terry McLaurin OVER 4.5 receptions

Terry McLaurin has proved that he makes big plays in big games, and this showdown with the 49ers might be the biggest game of the season. “Scary” Terry has played some of his best football of the year over the past two weeks, hauling in a combined 14 catches for 175 yards.

As I wrote earlier in this article, the Commanders will need to attack the 49ers through the air to have any hope, and I fully expect them to lean on the leader of the team in that effort. If he catches at least five balls, this bet will cash for us.
