The Washington Commanders are preparing for their biggest regular season game in several seasons, so naturally Dan Snyder is a talking point among the local and general media. Six weeks ago, Snyder hired Bank of America Securities to explore transactions with the franchise, including a potential sale.

It’s been quiet on that front, but that changed on Wednesday, when the Washington Post reported Bank of America will soon release a prospectus on the franchise to qualified potential buyers. In other words, the sale process is moving forward.

While a positive step, this is going to be a long process. Following the earth-shattering announcement, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer shared that the transaction would be wrapped up by the new league year in March.

In many ways, Colts owner Jim Irsay has led the “Snyder out” campaign. At the NFL owners’ meetings this week, Irsay was once again adamant that it’s in the league’s best interest if Snyder sells the Commanders.

That’s enough on Snyder for now. It is Giants Week, after all.

More Commanders news

  • Ron Rivera confirmed Wednesday that Wes Schweitzer, recently activated off injured reserve, will start at center in place of Tyler Larsen. The team went 6-1 with Larsen starting at center, but he’s out for the season after suffering a dislocated kneecap in the Week 13 tie vs the Giants.
  • Additionally, Rivera revealed the two areas Washington worked on during the bye: red zone offense and containing QB runs early in games. While they’ve adjusted in the second half of games, Marcus Mariota and Daniel Jones’ mobility gave the defense fits in the first and second quarters.
  • The Chase Young return saga has taken other twist. After reports indicated Young would return after the bye for the Giants rematch, Young himself threw cold water on that idea, telling reporters that “he’s trusting the process.” Young added, “When I’m ready, I’ll be ready. I’m 23 years old; I’ll make sure I’m good.” Does that sound like someone who’s suiting up on Sunday?
  • In terms of Wednesday’s injury report, no player was a DNP. Jamin Davis and Sam Cosmi were full participants (great sign for Sunday), while several others, including Antonio Gibson, Montez Sweat, Benjamin St-Juste, Trai Turner, Brian Robinson, Andrew Norwell, and Young were all limited.
  • Finally, the Commanders will debut their all-burgundy uniform Sunday night. Here’s a sneak peak at Terry McLaurin in the new threads.

NFL News

  • The Cowboys signed TY Hilton amid their long-standing interest in Odell Beckham Jr. Additionally, Micah Parsons caused a stir in the Eagles locker room by questioning whether Jalen Hurts is a system QB. Dallas vs Philly in Week 16 has all the makings of a game-of-the-year candidate.
  • Cardinals GM Steve Keim is taking a health-related leave of absence. This comes days after Kyler Murray suffered a torn ACL against the Patriots on Thursday Night Football. Tumultuous times in Arizona.
  • Chargers head coach Brandon Staley left the door open for bookend left tackle Rashawn Slater (ruptured biceps) to return in the regular season. His return would be huge for a Chargers team that’s fighting for a playoff berth and has a reasonably soft schedule the rest of the way.
