Commanders vs Giants Odds and Prediction for Sunday Night Football
By Jerry Trotta
After resting up during the bye, the Washington Commanders are back in business for their biggest game of the season.
After playing to a tie at MetLife Stadium in Week 13, the Commanders and Giants will run it back at FedEx Field in Week 15. With so much at stake in terms of playoff seeding, this all-to-play-for matchup got flexed into Sunday Night Football.
The Commanders have been hard-pressed to attain national exposure over the years, but this season’s team is impossible to ignore.
Luckily, they get the Giants at a perfect time after they were steamrolled by the Eagles in Week 14. With a win, Washington would notch the all-important head-to-head tiebreaker over New York, and remain ahead of them in the standings.
After entering Week 13 as -1.5 favorites vs the G-Men, you have to assume Washington is favored to beat New York in the friendly confines of FedEx Field. Let’s take a look at the early odds for this primetime matchup.
Commanders vs Giants Odds for Week 15 SNF
According to FanDuel, Washington (deservedly) opens as -3.5 home favorites for Sunday night. They’re -115 to cover the line, while the Giants are -105 to cover +3.5. On the moneyline (win outright), the Commanders are -196, while New York has +164 odds to walk out of FedEx Field with an upset victory.
The over/under for Sunday is set at 40.5 points. The over checks in at -105, while the under comes in at -115. Incredibly, the teams combined for exactly 40 points in their Week 13 tie, so this is a pretty difficult over/under to predict.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
Commanders vs Giants Prediction for Week 15 SNF
Look, everything is coming up Commanders in this matchup. While Terry McLaurin and company are rejuvenated after an overdue bye week, the Giants just got their doors blown off by the juggernaut Eagles, 48-22.
It was so bad Philly brought in their second-team in the fourth quarter, and Jalen Hurts only needed 217 passing yards to slam the door shut.
With Benjamin St-Juste likely back from injury — which would send Christian Holmes, who was a disaster in the Week 13 matchup — back to the bench, we really love Washington’s chances to win this game. Holmes allowed New York’s two biggest plays through the air, and St-Juste’s return will pay huge dividends.
On offense, Taylor Heinicke will need to take better care of the football, and the offensive line will need to give him better protection on passing downs. McLaurin, Curtis Samuel and Jahan Dotson are a lopsided matchup for this Giants secondary. Give Heinicke time, be efficient on the ground with Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson, and there’s no reason the Commanders shouldn’t hold serve at home.
Commanders 24, Giants 20.
