2. Logan Thomas, TE

It wasn’t long ago Thomas was regarded in the top-tier of tight ends. After bursting onto the scene in 2020 with 72 catches for 670 yards and 6 TDs, Thomas inked a three-year, $24 million extension. From that point on, though, injuries took their toll and the beloved tight end hasn’t looked the same since.

In 2021, Thomas missed six games (more than expected) with a hamstring injury. He returned for two games before suffering a torn ACL in Week 12. Incredibly, the 31-year-old was cleared for training camp and was active for Week 1.

Unfortunately, 2022 has been much of the same with Thomas, though his lack of production has been more of a talking point than injuries. A nagging calf injury sidelined him for three games. That’s it. Just three games.

In 10 games, Thomas has notched more than 50 receiving yards once, and more than three catches twice. He was always expected to see a reduced role with Curtis Samuel back healthy and Jahan Dotson arriving via the draft, but to see Thomas’ effectiveness dry up the way it has has been stunning.

Thomas is signed through 2024, but it wouldn’t be at all shocking if the Commanders release him in the offseason in the name of getting younger at the position and saving cap space if he doesn’t make an impact over the final four games.
