1. No OPI on Darius Slayton’s 55-yard catch
The long-feared matchup of Christian Holmes and Darius Slayton was realized throughout the game. In the second quarter, though, Holmes displayed what seemed to be textbook coverage on a Daniel Jones prayer to Slayton. The rookie admittedly didn’t make a great play on the ball, but that can certainly be attributed to a push in the back from Slayton as the ball arrived.
It wasn’t a substantial shove, but it definitely impacted the play, as it gave Slayton the necessary room to haul in the 55-yard pass.
Christian Holmes was reallu looking for offensive pass interference here. Slayton definitely gets his hands on him and grabs him, but refs deem it not enough contact to merit the flag pic.twitter.com/MoVnwyOQM0

We’d be the first to admit that refs are often looking for any excuse to call defensive pass interference. They often bail out QBs on under-thrown balls, and deem harmless hand-fighting as penalties. This, however, was a clear shove on Slayton’s part that prevented Holmes from making a play on the ball.
The completion injected a spark into New York’s, and they fittingly responded by scoring a touchdown via Saquon Barkley to tie the game at 10. Do the Giants score on the drive without that penalty? We’ll never know, but they should’ve been at least 65 yards back from where Slayton caught the pass.
That’s FIVE huge missed calls in a game that ended in a tie. Not going to elaborate any further, but that’s pretty telling, don’t you think?
