The Washington Commanders’ Week 2 clash against the Detroit Lions qualified as a litmus test for Ron Rivera’s side. To say they failed the exam would be an understatement. Now, they face a Philadelphia Eagles squad that’s 2-0 and has looked like one of the best teams in the league to start the season.

The Commanders are home, which always helps, but Vegas clearly views this as a lopsided matchup as the Eagles are a touchdown favorite at -6.5. The line opened at -4.5 (still not ideal) before jumping to a touchdown after Philly’s statement win over the Vikings on Monday Night Football.

Washington played the Eagles tough two times last season, and I actually expect a repeat of that in this matchup. There will be playmakers galore on the field Sunday, so let’s take a look at some of the best prop bets for this rivalry game.

Not to toot my own horn, but I went 2-1 last week. Terry McLaurin went over 59.5 receiving yards (75) and Logan Thomas scored a touchdown, while Antonio Gibson fell well short of 57.5 rushing yards (28). Let’s try to go undefeated this week.

3. DeVonta Smith over 45.5 receiving yards (-114)

The Commanders haven’t been able to cover anyone this season. The prospect of Washington defending AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith is horrifying. Both receivers could have big games, but Brown’s passing yards prop is set at 73.5 yards, which is a little steep for our liking. Smith’s meanwhile, comes in at just 45.5 yards.

In Week 1, the Eagles made it a point of emphasis to get Brown the ball. It was his first game for the team and he erupted for 10 catches and 155 yards. In Week 2, Jalen Hurts shared the wealth and Smith had his best game to the tune of seven catches for 80 yards.

Look for the Eagles to deploy a share-the-wealth strategy again. With Smith looking comfortable in the slot vs Minnesota, look for the second-year receiver to cash this bet and potentially lead Philly in receiving Sunday at FedEx Field.

2. JD McKissic anytime TD scorer (+500)

That’s right, baby. McKissic will find the end zone on Sunday.

The veteran running back has almost become an afterthought in the Commanders’ offense with Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel and Jahan Dotson taking the spotlight, but he came alive in garbage time against the Lions with five catches for 57 yards.

McKissic hasn’t been used nearly enough for our liking through two games. Hopefully that changes Sunday because Washington is going to need all of its playmakers to step up to remain competitive and potentially pull off the upset.

Whether it comes in garbage time of the fourth quarter or some other point in the game, look for McKissic to score an unlikely touchdown. At +500 odds, you can win a whopping $500 by just betting $100. How can you pass that up?

1. Dallas Goedert first touchdown scorer (+1,000)

You want to get crazy? Let’s get crazy!

For starters, the rushing props for this game aren’t enticing. Antonio Gibson’s is set at 49.5 yards and he struggled against Philly last season and looked pretty sluggish between the tackles (28 yards on 14 carries) in the Lions loss.

Assuming the Eagles jump out to an early lead, look for Goedert to be on the receiving end of the game’s first touchdown. If you remember, Goedert torched Washington last year, finishing with 13 catches for 206 yards over the two games. At +1,000 odds, you can make a quick 1K by placing a $100 wager on this bet.
