Commanders players respond to Brian Robinson shooting on social media
By Jerry Trotta
The Washington Commanders community is currently recovering after it was reported rookie running back Brian Robinson was shot multiple times during an attempted carjacking or armed robbery in Washington, D.C., on Sunday evening.
Robinson is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital, where he’s in stable condition.
A third-round pick out of Alabama this year, Robinson was visited by family members and multiple Commanders’ officials, including head coach Ron Rivera, who tweeted Robinson was in “good spirits” after his hospital visit.
Rivera’s update really helped ease the minds of a worried Commanders family. Rivera said Robinson “will be back soon doing what he does best” and wanted his teammates to know he appreciates their kind messages.
You can only imagine what Robinson’s (family) and teammates were going through after they caught wind of the shooting and several responded on social media when Robinson’s status was very much in question.
Several Commanders players responded to the Brian Robinson shooting on social media.
Charles Leno’s response echoed every Commanders fan. All you could do was pray and hope Robinson would pull through. Luckily, the bullets hit his lower extremities and he seems to have avoided the worse-case scenario.
Up next? Fan favorite Jeremy Reaves.

It’s currently unclear when Robinson will return to the gridiron but you can bet he’ll come back stronger than ever. Minor setback for a major comeback.

We were right there praying with Saahdiq Charles. Remember, there was a lot of uncertainty about Robinson’s condition when the news was first reported.
Keep the prayers coming. While Robinson is in stable condition, we should continue praying he makes a full recovery from his gunshot wounds.
Another fan favorite, Kelvin Harmon was just released by Washington and was clearly shaken up by the news like so many Commanders.
Jonathan William has a unique perspective on the shooting. As part of the Commanders’ running back room, Williams practices with Robinson every day.
We’ll continue searching for more reactions from Robinson’s teammates. For now, though, we have to show some like to Titans rookie quarterback Malik Willis, who offered up prayers for Robinson in a tweet Sunday evening.
More NFL players could’ve tweeted their concerns for Robinson, but Willis’s response was the first we noticed. Classy move by the Titans quarterback.
Like all of these players, we send our best wishes to Robinson.
