Linebackers

Cole Holcomb

Cole Holcomb has steadily improved each year since his rookie season and that progress should continue.  In fact, look for the former North Carolina Tar Heel to have a true breakout season in 2022.  He has a legitimate chance to make the Pro Bowl this year.

Stat Prediction: 2 sacks, 144 tackles, 4 tackles for lost yardage, 8 quarterback hits, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions, 12 pass deflections.

Jamin Davis

Jamin Davis was chosen in the first round of the 2021 draft by Washington after a spectacular final season at the University of Kentucky.   Davis struggled for much of last year, but the final few games were a different story.  The former SEC standout is expected to have a solid impact in the coming months.

Stat Prediction: 2 sacks, 82 tackles, 8 tackles for lost yardage, 6 quarterback hits, 1 interception, 5 pass deflections.

Khaleke Hudson

Khaleke Hudson is expected to have an increased role at linebacker this season.  The special teams ace is hoping to meet or exceed predictions from various analysts this year.  Hudson could be pressed into a starting role with an injury to either Holcomb or Davis.

David Mayo

David Mayo will provide depth at linebacker after filling a similar role last season.  Mayo is not a lock to make the roster of 53, but he is likely just above the bubble for now.

Nathan Gerry

Nathan Gerry is a new addition to the roster and he is likely locked into a roster position.  He is solid in pass coverage.

De’Jon Harris and Milo Eifler are clearly fighting to make the final cut and both players are likely on the wrong side of that bubble for now.  However, they have the remainder of training camp and the preseason to state their cases.

Trey Walker will try to impress the staff this month after supposedly retiring for less than a day.  He could receive consideration for a practice squad slot.  Drew White is heading to IR and a possible injury settlement.
