Terry McLaurin

McLaurin got his chance to speak at the podium Thursday, but he also gave NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay a compelling interview. During the sit down, McLaurin gave his first impressions on Wentz, lauded the versatility of the Commanders’ receiving corps and touched on Chase Young’s rehab.

"“I think Chase is doing a really good job. I talked to him throughout the offseason. He’s like my little big brother. The biggest thing that stands out about Chase is his enthusiasm and seeing him with a smile on his face when I came in, seeing how eager he is to get back out here and how he’s attacking his rehab, that’s what you want to see.” ” . . . As his teammate and a guy who’s known him for a long time, I just want to continue to encourage him to take as much time as he needs because this defense can be even better with him out there playing to his full potential.”"

Though he still isn’t cleared to practice, it’s apparent Young uplifted Washington’s spirits by just being present at practice. The former No. 2 overall pick took slings and arrows from fans for his lackluster output in 2021 before his ACL injury, but the important thing is McLaurin and the locker room has his back.
