2. Tennessee Titans

The Titans’ defense isn’t composed of well-known stars, but they were a nightmare matchup for most quarterbacks in 2021. As a team, Tennessee ranked sixth in Pro Football Focus’ team coverage grades and Kevin Byard was the catalyst, finishing as PFF’s top-ranked safety and earning his second All-Pro nod.

While Byard is the standout, Amani Hooker was a surprisingly fantastic running mate, flaunting an 83.4 coverage grade while breaking up three passes. Furthermore, No. 1 corner Kristian Fulton allowed just a 48.4% catch rate and Elijah Molden owned a respectable 64.7 coverage grade as the main slot defender.

That’s not all, folks. 2021 first-rounder Caleb Farley and 2022 second-rounder Roger McCreary could make the unit even scarier. Farley’s rookie year was derailed by injuries while McCreary was the fifth CB taken in a stacked 2022 class.

The Titans’ secondary is without question their strong suit, but Jeffery Simmons is as consistent as they come at the defensive tackle position and Harold Landry, Denico Autry and Bud Dupree are forces to be reckoned with on the edge.

Fortunately for Wentz, he played these guys twice last year with the Colts so it’s not like he’s going into this matchup with his pants down.
