1. Kirk Cousins

You might’ve thought Scherff would take the No. 1 spot, but Kirk Cousins will return to Washington for the first time since he left as a free agent in 2018 when the Vikings visit FedEx Field in Week 9. That obviously takes the cake.

The Vikings and Commanders have played once since Cousins’ departure, but that game was in Minnesota. This game has primetime appeal, but kickoff is unfortunately scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, which just so happens to be the time slot Cousins has flourished the most in over his career.

Cousins has some fantastic memories in FedEx Field, including finishing with a 26-30-1 record and leading Washington to the playoffs in his first year as the full-time starter in 2015. He led the NFL in completion percentage that year and made the Pro Bowl the next season after finishing third with 4,917 passing yards and throwing 25 touchdowns to 13 interceptions.

In total, Cousins made 57 starts for the Commanders, completing 65.5% of his passes for 261.4 yards and 99 touchdowns to 55 picks. He engineered 12 game-winning drives and eight fourth-quarter comebacks, to boot.

Those numbers are nothing to sneeze at and Washington has struggled mightily in trying to replace Cousins since he left … though everyone would agree Carson Wentz is the most talented of their recent run of placeholders.

Honorable mentions: Trent Williams (Week 16 @ SF), Preston Smith (Week 7 vs GB), Kyle Allen (Week 11 @ Hou).
