Whether they get traded away, released or signed by other teams in free agency, there are former Washington Commanders all round the NFL. Look no further than the Buffalo Bills, who currently roster Tim Settle and Jamison Crowder.

Elsewhere, Trent Williams is still with the 49ers after being traded, Matt Ioannidis signed with the Panthers after his release, DeAndre Carter is with the Chargers, Morgan Moses is now in Baltimore and Preston Smith is in Green Bay.

The Bills would feel like an ultimate revenge game given they now have Settle and Crowder and nearly added JD McKissic in free agency before the Commanders swooped in at the last-minute and re-signed the versatile running back.

Unlike last season, though, Buffalo isn’t on the 2022 schedule, so let’s highlight former Commanders who can get revenge on the club this year.

3. Ricky Seals-Jones

Seals-Jones only spent 2021 with the Commanders (then Football Team), but he made an immense impact as the backup tight end.

With Logan Thomas injured for all but six games last season, Seals-Jones was thrust into a starting role. Nobody would argue the offense did’t skip a beat without Thomas’ assuring presence, but Seals was better than expected, catching 30 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns.

Not an eye-popping stat line, but 14 of his 30 catches went for first downs, which encapsulated his importance as a security blanket for Taylor Heinicke.

With Thomas working his way back from ACL surgery, a number of fans were outspoken about wanting the Commanders to re-sign Seals Jones this offseason. When push came to shove, though, the front office ignored the position and the Texas A&M product inked a one-year, $1.187 million deal with the rival Giants.

That’s right, folks. Washington will see Seals-Jones twice in 2022. With Evan Engram and Kyle Rudolph no longer around, RSJ is currently the Giants’ No. 1 tight end, putting him in a position to get serious revenge on his former team.
