2. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have much bigger problems than their wide receiver depth chart, as quarterback Lamar Jackson’s long-term status is currently up in the air. He reportedly isn’t engaging the team about a contract extension, even though Baltimore would be more than happy acquiescing to his demands.

Jackson is skipping OTAs and he was visibly upset when the Ravens traded his top target Marquise “Hollywood” Brown this offseason. With Watkins landing in Green Bay as a free agent, Jackson doesn’t have a WR with more than 10 career starts. Rashod Bateman is a promising second-year player, but Devin Duvernay, James Proche and Tylan Wallace are all unproven, to say the least.

You know what would ease Jackson’s mind? If Baltimore, which has had an excellent offseason besides this Jackson dilemma, give its former MVP a true No. 1 receiver. With all due respect to Jackson, but he doesn’t have the arm talent to maximize a feeble receiving corps. He can take this roster to new heights, but not with tight end Mark Andrews being his primary target.

The Ravens are set up nice from a cap perspective in 2022 and beyond so they could afford giving McLaurin top-of-the-market money. Of course, making their quarterback happy (not money) should be their top priority.
