We’ve known for a while that the Washington Commanders would have a relatively easy schedule for the 2022 season. Their list of opponents was revealed months ago and was met with a collective sigh of relief from fans.

On Thursday, their full 17-game slate was revealed and it was met with a similar reaction amongst the fan base.

On top of playing the NFL’s easiest schedule based on their opponent’s combined record from last season, the projected win totals of their 2022 opponents pencils them inside the top-five, according to Sharp Football Analysis.

Like any schedule, the Commanders’ schedule includes some tough stretches. However, the itinerary as a whole is highly favorable, so let’s highlight some of the biggest positives from Thursday’s highly anticipated reveal.

3 biggest positives from Commanders 2022 schedule

3. Weeks 11-15

While the Commanders’ schedule starts off easy, their stretch spanning Weeks 4 through 10 is pretty worrisome. Here’s what it looks like: at Dallas, vs Tennessee, at Chicago, vs Green Bay, at Indianapolis, vs Minnesota and at Philly.

If they can get through that with their head above water, they’ll have a golden opportunity to churn out wins. From Weeks 11-15, the Commanders will go at Houston, vs Atlanta, at the Giants, BYE, and vs the Giants.

Does that smell like 4-0 to anyone else? At the very least it should be 3-1 and Washington will likely need those three (maybe four) wins considering they’ll close out the year on the road in San Francisco on Christmas Eve before heading home for dates against Cleveland and Dallas in Weeks 17 and 18.

It’s not often the schedule gods give a team four winnable games in five weeks, let alone with a bye week mixed in, but Washington finally caught a break and needs to take advantage. If they don’t, their season could go up in flames.
