3 most concerning games on Commanders’ 2022 schedule

2. Week 17 vs Browns
Does this matchup terrify anyone else? Were relieved it’ll take place at FedEx Field, as traveling cross-country to San Francisco for a Christmas Eve fixture only to play in Cleveland the following week (the second to last game of the year) would not be ideal. Regardless, this is still a scary game for multiple reasons.
The first? It’s the second to last came and comes against one of the most talented rosters in the league. If Baker Mayfield was still QB1, the Browns wouldn’t have even made the list … but Deshaun Watson? Joining one of the best rushing attacks in the league? To go with Myles Garrett and that secondary?
Yes, this matchup is extremely daunting, especially when you realize the Commanders might need a victory to punch their playoff ticket.
With frigid temperatures expected at FedEx Field on New Year’s Day, this will be a classic trench warfare battle. Whomever wins the battle up front will likely win this game. That goes for both sides of the ball, so Jonathan Allen, Charles Leno and Co. better be up for a 60-minute dogfight.
Whatever kind of game unfolds, it’s never ideal to play a playoff-caliber team this late in the season. After all, given how competitive the AFC North figures to be, the Browns will almost definitely need a win to boost their playoff odds.
