Christian Harris, LB, Alabama

Drafting an Alabama linebacker is usually a safe bet for NFL teams and Harris would be a worthwhile addition for Washington, too. He started all 15 games for the Crimson Tide this past season, racking up 79 tackles, 12.5 for loss, 5.5 sacks, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles.

Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming

You might notice a theme on this slide, as the Commanders are still in need of linebacker. Muma feels like a great fit and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he ended up as the best linebacker in this year’s class. He flies sideline to sideline against the run and his vigor and motor would be a dream pairing with Ron Rivera.

Luke Goedeke, OL, Central Michigan

Commanders fans should fully expect the team to add at least one offensive linemen over the draft’s final six rounds. The 6-foot-5, 312-pound Goedeke would be a good place to start, as he’s a mauler in the running game and his strong base will help him offset any potential growing pains in pass protection.

Perrion Winfrey, DT, Oklahoma

With Daron Payne not expected to receive a contract extension from Washington, defensive tackle suddenly becomes a major question mark. Already low on depth following the departures of Tim Settle and Matt Ioannidis, Allen is now the only starting DT signed through 2023. In Winfrey, the Commanders would get a disruptive run defender who does more against the pass than his stats suggest.

Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina

We know. The Commanders did extensive research on Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral leading up to the draft. While we admire Corral’s toughness and natural arm talent, Howell seems more capable of withstanding hits in the NFL, has the best deep ball of this year’s QBs and pocket awareness you can’t teach.

Honorable mentions: Travis Jones (DT, UConn), Breece Hall (RB, Iowa State), Troy Anderson (LB, Montana State), Greg Dulcich (TE, UCLA), Matt Corral (QB, Ole Miss), Logan Hall (DT, Houston), Nick Cross (S, Maryland).
