Best- and worst-case scenario for Commanders in 2022 NFL Draft

Worst-case scenario for Commanders in 2022 NFL Draft
This one really doesn’t need that thorough of an explanation. If the Commanders bypass a receiver, fans will be fuming. Depending on who they grab as an alternative, though, will determine the true pulse of the fan base.
In our eyes, the only way Washington can justify not taking a WR is if they snag Kyle Hamilton at pick No. 11. The Notre Dame safety could go as high as the top-five or slip as low as Washington’s pick or maybe even into the teens.
The likes of Derek Stingley, Ahmad Gardner and even Trent McDuffie (if they trade back and Olave’s gone) would be justifiable picks, too. We just don’t want to see the Commanders invest another first-round pick on a defensive player.
An undisputed worst-case scenario, though, we see Washington draft an offensive linemen, defensive linemen, or a linebacker. The front office has met with players at each position, including potential first-round picks and fans will grow a little wary when they realize the names that could be available.
From Mississippi State offensive tackle Charles Cross, Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd, Georgia nose tackle Jordan Davis, Northern Iowa tackle Trevor Penning and Florida State pass rusher Jermaine Johnson (maybe), the talent is undeniable.
For the sake of Washington’s future and 2022 ceiling … and Rivera’s job security, we seriously hope they don’t overthink this pick.
Either take the best available receiver, trade back for one of the stud receivers, draft Hamilton or one of the top corners and call it a night.
