Here in round four, Washington adds a defensive back that put together a stellar 2021 campaign for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Cincy’s Coby Bryant wins with length and his knack for making plays when the ball is in the air.

Washington Commanders. Coby Bryant. 113. player. 58. . Defensive Back

Coby Bryant may give you a flashback of the great Kobe Bean Bryant due to the name recognition, but Coby has his own game that translates very nicely to the NFL.

In 2021, he forced 12 incompletions which placed him in the top 12 among all qualified Cornerbacks, while allowing a completion percentage of just 44% when targeted. In addition, Bryant showed an extreme willingness to come up and make a tackle in run support, boating a run defense grade of 83.6 from Pro Football Focus.

Bryant’s length and ball instincts shine brightest on tape, and he understands how to use these two attributes to his benefit as an outside corner. Overall, Bryant would be a solid add to a Washington DB room that needs a fresh face to give it a spark, and Coby Bryant can be that guy with their fourth-round pick.
