Here’s the shocker of this draft early on. In my mocks, I try to blend a unique perspective of reality, scheme fit, but also versatility so you guys and gals, as readers, can get a better view on the prospects in this years’ draft.

With the Commanders on record using two of their top 30 visits on running backs Kenneth Walker III and Breece Hall, I think if Washington does in fact trade back, they’ll end up grabbing a premier running back option on day two,

Washington Commanders. Kenneth Walker III. 49. player. 58. . Running Back

Bingo. The Washington Commanders snag Michigan State’s Kenneth Walker III with their second, second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft after trading with the New Orleans Saints earlier in the weekend.

You may be asking, where does this leave Antonio Gibson? The point for me is, the NFL is beginning to trend towards two-headed backfields, guys that can do multiple things and provide flexibility within your offense.

At this stage, Antonio Gibson still has plenty of room to grow as a running back and quite frankly, Washington’s running back room is far from solidified. Adding a guy like Kenneth Walker III that has excellent vision as a zone ball carrier, someone that forced the most missed tackles, had the most carries of 15+ yards, the most yards after contact last season, combined with 4.3 speed, yeah, Walker is the real deal.

Kenneth Walker makes a ton of sense for a Washington offense that needs juice. They need a spark. KW3 out of Michigan State could be their man in the second round.
